This is a classic, hence I can (I will!) keep it short, without any intros, but just giving the necessary links. The song I propose for today (nothing is a coincidence :-)), "The Trial", is one of my favourites from Pink Floyd's "The Wall", which is one of my favourite albums from Pink Floyd (wikientry), which at its turn is really in the top of my favourite music bands of all times, as I already confessed.
This post is, at the same time, also about the superb film version of "The Wall" (see also its IMDb entry) and "The Trial" scene constitutes the perfect scene for this week.
To put music and motion picture together, here's the youtube clip of "The Trial." A masterpiece, really. Here's the essence (err... sentence):
Since, my friend, you have revealed your deepest fear,
I sentence you to be exposed before your peers!
Tear down the wall!
PS. You can watch most of "Pink Floyd The Wall" parts on YouTube (scan among the clips there).

Nice pick:) It's not my favourite Pink Floyd tune, but it definitely is one of the best scenes of the movie:)
When about Pink Floyd it is very difficult (for me) to pick one favourite tune, since they're quite many which are absolute masterpieces, work of genius, in most of their albums. Anyways, in a very informal and totally subjective manner (even vis-a-vis my own rankings :-)), I also have another top top favourite, so to say (but it'd probably also depend on my modd) :-). Nevertheless, The Trial is certainly the climax of the whole The Wall album. Insanely perfect, I'd say.
Of course this is not an easy piece so I'd advise everybody to stay and think about it (also about the piece in the context of the album, that is crucial) and find more info if necessary. As a start, there is a fairly good (my opinion) detailed analysis of this piece (as well as of the other songs of The Wall), also put in the context of the rest of the album, here.
