Song of the day: Astor Piazzola's Libertango

What happens if you combine the musical genius of Astor Piazzola ("El Gran Ástor" needs no further introduction: a legend is a legend!) and the superhuman interpreting skills of, perhaps (with certainty, as far as I am concerned), the current best cello player in the world, Yo-Yo Ma (an amazing artist I saw twice performing in the famous Concertgebouw, in Amsterdam, artist about whom I'll talk much more with another occasion)? Well, the result is "Libertango" (youtube videoclip with sequences from The Tango Lesson, for which Libertango served as soundtrack), a true instrumental masterpiece that is my chosen melody (not song...) for today. The no less famous bandoneonist Nestor Marconi is joining Yo-Yo Ma in this superlative performance. See also the live Libertango performance with the full team. And as bonus, a live performance with Astor Piazzola himself, performing the fantastic "Adios, nonino".

Tango por siempre!
